My history on skis isn’t impressive: I have crashed on ice, damaged my knee badly (twice), suffered the indignity of emergency rescue and, perhaps worst of all, been filmed by my husband, Kenny, going down a “lazy mile†in Vermont, which revealed that I ski as upright as Mary Poppins dropping to earth with her umbrella.
